tobias baur 7 years ago in General updated 7 years ago 3

Hallo Herr Blach!

Create new file from Files dialog

dame wang 7 years ago in General updated by Alexander Blach (Developer) 7 years ago 3

I keep my files in Working Copy and open them in Textastic using the Files dialog. However, the file must be created first in Working Copy.

I’d like to see the ability to create the new file directly from Textastic. IA Writer has this implemented. When it opens up the Files dialog, there is a “+” before the “Select” in the header, and you can create a new file in Working Copy without having to to into Working Copy at all. It would save the extra step of opening Working Copy to create an empty file.

Love the app. Have a few feature requests.

Would be great to have:

* a button that instantly create a new blank file w/ default name — so often I need to just type and edit a bit of text but don’t want to go through the file creation & naming process

* retain the web browser content when switching back to editing (I would like to maintain my Grafana session, for example)

* search across all files

* have a button to put up a list of all files that have been changed locally (allowing them to be selected/unselected), then upload them and execute a command in a remote terminal — i.e. “remote save & build”

* check for changes to remote file when editing a file (or at least when starting to edit it locally) and ask to re-download if remote version is newer

* warn when uploading a file that has been changed if the remote version has changed since it was downloaded

* it would be great if there was a “Select Identifier” in addition to “Select” and “Select All”.  In code you almost never want to Select All, and Select leaves you fiddling to expand the text selection

* the terminal window often doesn’t scroll all the way to the bottom, and often the bottom few lines end up covered by the extra keyboard ribbon (while using a physical keyboard)

This app makes for a surprisingly good remote development experience, and these requests are mostly to fine tune that.

Distinguish opened files with same names

Jottess 7 years ago in General updated 7 years ago 2

First, congratulations for such an amazing program.

My idea is to be able to distinguish opened files with same names, from different folders/paths in same project or different projects.

Sublime 3 does this in the tab name, adding parent folder after filename, only if files from same project with same name are open.

Example: [home.php - controller] [home.php - template]

For two files named home.php in two folders like “site/controller” and “site/template”.

If files are from different projects, it changes the file tab name like:

[home.php - projectFolder1\...\controller] and [home.php - projectFolder2\...\controller]

first type would be great. The other one one would be a great bonus ;-)

Thank you very much!

Is it possible to edit the header or footer on printed pages?

Barry J. Sullens 7 years ago in General updated by Alexander Blach (Developer) 7 years ago 1

Is it possible to edit the information printed in header or footer? I want to keep the filename in the upper left, but don't want the time/date stamp on right or page number in footer. Can this be edited? I haven't found it in any dialog I can see.

kemnitzerfelix 7 years ago in General updated by Alexander Blach (Developer) 7 years ago 3

Cannnot open file in new tab from filtering

Kyle Sherman 7 years ago in General updated 7 years ago 2

I have a file opened in a tab. Then, I filter through a different project and find a file I want to open.

Expected:

The file I tap, opens in a new tab.

Actual:

It opens in the same tab.

Therefore, the only way to open in a new tab is to not use filtering.

Can’t edit (copy, move, etc.) files while filtering

Kyle Sherman 7 years ago in General updated by Alexander Blach (Developer) 7 years ago 2

I love the file filtering feature, but I want to do that and then select a file to copy or move. However, once I start filtering, the option to Edit is gone. It would be great to have a way to do both at the same time. Seems like the edit button would likely need to move to a different location.
