Highlighting for VimScript

leviosa42 3 years ago in General 0

Hi, I am a Textastic and Vim user.

I maintain my own vimrc on GitHub and use Textastic via WorkingCopy to edit it on iOS.

I have been using it for a long time and feel very comfortable with it. A slight gripe, however, is the lack of syntax highlighting in VimScript.

I would like to have syntax highlighting applied to *.vim and *.vimrc.

Thank you in advance.

PS: This sentence is using Deepl translation. Sorry if it's hard to understand.

Is it possible to do multi-caret editing - to make the same change in specific multiple places at once?

Missing in JavaScript code completion

Great app!

console.log and for-of loop are missing in the code completion suggestion.
I’m going through the advent of code using JavaScript in Textastic 👍

SSH Terminal: Tap dismisses keyboard

Evan Mitchell 4 years ago in General updated by Alexander Blach (Developer) 4 years ago 1

While using the SSH terminal, to get the paste option you currently have to tap twice: the first tap dismisses the keyboard, and the second brings back the keyboard and shows the paste option. I would expect the first tap to bring up the paste option.

MDNS support for local network name resolution

Stephane 5 years ago in General updated 5 years ago 2

First off great app, thank you for making it.

On my local network, I use mDNS to identify the machines so I don’t have to remember the IP addresses.

mDNS name resolution doesn’t seem to be supported (for ssh connections at least) in Textastic and it would be a convenient addition

Instant editing

I just open Textastic to make a quick edit on some text in my clipboard and found it really hard to go through all the steps to create a file select the correct location etc.

it would be much easier if we could just start editing (and maybe safe to a file later)

auto save

oliver 6 years ago in General updated by Alexander Blach (Developer) 6 years ago 1

Is there any way to turn off auto save? This is horrible. If I am making changes to my code to test something out and accidentally close the file, it saves it. Auto save should ALWYAS be OPTIONAL.

Use as 3rd party keyboard

Bea Steers 6 years ago in General updated by It’s Me 2 years ago 3

Textastic is by far the best coding keyboard I’ve seen for iOS devices and there aren’t really any viable options for external keyboards out there.

I would love if I could use Textastic in other apps (like if I’m submitting an issue on github) so I don’t have to copy and paste from Wikipedia just to get a backtick character.
