jpg not imported correctly

Vic Riley 6 years ago in General updated by Alexander Blach (Developer) 6 years ago 3

Hi, Alexander - When I import a jpg file to a folder from the Photos app, Textastic is treating it as a binary file and it isn’t importing correctly. The workaround is to export the file from Photos to Folders and then open in Textastic, but it would be nice to be able to import directly again. Thanks, and thanks for the app - I do ALL my web development in it.

Please try the following to import an image from the photo library:

  • go to a directory in Local Files or iCloud
  • tap on the "+" button in the bottom toolbar
  • select "Image"
  • pick an image from the photo library
  • enter a file name
  • tap "Done"

The bug is in the local files chain. Following these instructions in the local files causes the binary file message, and an html page will not render the image correctly. Saving the image to iCloud or the Folders app from Photos works, but importing the file from within Textastic does not.

Sorry, but I cannot seem to reproduce this issue. Can you send me a video of when this happens? Please have a look at this article on how to record the screen on iOS: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207935
