Weird non-printable characters in text

Chris H 7 years ago in iPad updated by Alexander Blach (Developer) 7 years ago 1

I am create a new HTML file on my iPad.  When I get the file done and attempt to preview it, the style sheet is not reflected in the output.  When I open it with Friebug lite, there are a lot of bizarre characters in the outputScreenshot

This is annoying - I don’t know how the weird characters were inserted or where to look to fix the problem so they are no longer present.

HTML Block Comment

tonym 7 years ago in iPad updated by Alexander Blach (Developer) 7 years ago 1

I opened an existing HTML file in Textastic that had some code commented out.

The items that were commented out in the original file were not commented out on the IOS app.

Is this a setting or is this not possible on the IOS version?

Thanks,

Tony

I get an error when using File Transfer: could not find files for public key authentication

Duke 7 years ago in iPad updated 7 years ago 0

So I setup a droplet (DigitalOcean). Now I’m trying to connect Textastic using sftp but i am getting an error: could not find files for public key authentication? The info on the manual is not clear when saying For this to work, you need to transfer the private key file for your SSH account to Textastic. Example using Dropbox? What does that even mean?! Jesus!!

Autoformatting using Prettier (https://prettier.io)

JS 7 years ago in iPad 0

Prettier supports JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, Less, SCSS, JSON, Markdown and YAML. One feature that really stands out for me is that it allows to setup the width in columns - this makes formatting code examples for print magazines much easier.

Using .sublime-syntax files with 7.0

ninjasong 7 years ago in iPad updated 7 years ago 6

From the release notes:

• Compatible with TextMate and Sublime Text 3 syntax definitions and themes

I've tried dropping my .sublime-syntax file into the #Textastic folder, but I'm not getting the option to use it. It works fine on Sublime.

It does not recoganize my LaTeX file (.tex) in Google drive.

HJ Wang 7 years ago in iPad updated 7 years ago 2

I just bought Textastic for my ipad. I want to use it to edit plain text files, such as LaTeX documents with .tex extensions. My files are in Google drive, and while I can browse to the folder, the files with the .tex extension are grayed out and cannot be selected. What should I do to make .tex file (or any plain text file) recognizable to Textastic?

Can be please removed validation of "Textastic" only files for iCloud textastic folder?

Leeland Morgan 7 years ago in iPad updated 7 years ago 1

I would me honest - copying files to Textastic, I mean copying, not opening - is a huge pain in the ass. I overcome this only by "share to" button, when I need to copy .tmBundle files to Textastic iCloud folder, so it could be moved in proper folder inside Textastic.

Thanks!
