SFTP connection problems (Remote file not found)

August Connolly 11 years ago in iPad updated 11 years ago 4

I'm trying to connect to my Ubuntu server over sftp, but it keeps giving me the error 'Remote File not Found.'

I've tested sftp on my server with winSCP, which worked perfectly, and I have tried using textastic's logs to get a better idea of what's going on. It seems to be connecting (which is confirmed by my server logs), but after the line 'Authentication Complete,' it tells me:

"Could not open directory for reading: No such file or directory." I've tried several directories, including my home directory and root, but they all throw the same error. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

AppleScript support

I have just purchased this app for £6 specifically because the website advised that the app supported it and no other app could.

i find myself highly disappointed that this app does not work as advertised.

i am reserving my review score of this app until a member of technical support can address this ultimate failure to deliver what has been paid for.

Dark screen keyboard for iOS7

Ulises del Rosal 11 years ago in iPad updated 11 years ago 2

New iOS7 keyboard is allmost white -very uncomfortable in dark ambience- but I've seen that sometimes it appears dark (I don't know why...). Just imagine how usefull would be to switch to a dark theme and keyboard when typping in low light!!

Save Remote Page in Browser

Nicholas Hoium 11 years ago in General updated 11 years ago 2
Would love a way to open a webpage sent from Safari and then be able to save the source code via the embedded browsers. Other apps, like Readdle Documents, offer this functionality but aren't as nice to use to browse the code as this one. It would basically be taking the Open From Browser url scheme one step further.

Long folder name

I can't see a folder name when it is too long.

Please check below link.

I think that Dropbox's iPAD app solves this problem cleverly.

Thank you for the great app. :-)

error Document Picker - both Google Drive and Working Copy

Tim Burgan 9 years ago in iPad updated by Alexander Blach (Developer) 9 years ago 2

Hello

I'm using Textastic 5.3.1 on iOS 9.1 on an iPad Air.

I haven't used textastic for a few weeks, but today I just went to open a file from my Working Copy repository and Textastic shows error: Failed to Launch 'Working Copy'. The document picker Working Copy failed to launch (0).

I thought it was a problem with Working Copy and I saw it had an update in the app store, so I just updated it but it stil has the error.

I decided to try to open a file from Google Drive but it also gave the same error. So it seems like something may be amis with Textastics functionality under iOS 9.1 ?

Thanks

Tim

keyboard not hiding after ftp screen

bgrvfecdwsxa 13 years ago updated by Alexander Blach (Developer) 13 years ago 1
1. i open a file (html in my case, think it dosnt matter wich ending)
2. i turn the "file list bar" on the left off -> file list viewable under "Files" (in german "Dateien")
3. i go to the ftp split screen without closing the opened file and rename the file
4. i go back to the file screen
-> the keyboard doesnt hide
-> in the "file list popup", you can scroll more down than the height of the file list

bug?

This if fixed for the next update.

It would be nice to have some more font choices.

Specifically Monaco or maybe downloading and installing a font.

Not a bug

don't use Google Drive file type

etoileBleu 9 years ago in iPad updated by Josh Shortlidge 7 years ago 11

The Google drive file type grays out files, so you cannot open them in iPad Textastic.

1. Files uploaded that can be changed to Google Docs will get the Google file type. Textastic will not open those files (show up as grayed out). Even a plain text *.txt file will be changed to Google file type and then you cannot open in Textastic.

2. Coding files, in plain text, has all kinds of crazy extensions. Google doesn't know those so it sets the file type as Binary. Textastic grays those files out so you cannot open them from Google Drive.

(horrible) workaround: change the file extension to .xml then upload. It is okay to remove the .xml extension in Drive after as the file type will not change.

If you upload .txt then you must uncheck the option "convert to Google Docs format" beforehand.

In both cases the exact same file will open fine locally on the iPad

Basically, it is an annoyance from Google. But I would much rather that you let me try to open a file first, rather than block me from opening. They are all text files.

I want to use Textastic for coding, and this would be a big help using Google Drive to open files
