Binary Transfer Mode for FTP

Other FTP clients I have used have allowed me to specify binary transfer mode for subsequent transfers (as opposed to ASCII transfer mode).  How do I do this in Textastic for iOS on iPads?

Textastic internally uses libcurl, which uses binary transfer by default.

Out of curiosity, is there any way to specify ASCII transfer mode?

No, it's always binary.
