Yes, as Eric pointed out, Textastic has potentially sensitive data: some people want to protect the files they have saved in Textastic - the files may contain passwords for mysql databases or code that is under an NDA – other people need to protect the remote connections so that their kids can't delete files from their servers instead of playing games on the family iPad :)

I, too, don't want to protect the whole iPad with a PIN lock but being able to protect sensitive data on an app-by-app basis would be nice.
Well, of course, I'd love to have a look at them. You are right, other editors like Dreamweaver have an extensive set of template files.
Are you talking about the "Return" key in the virtual keyboard or are you using an external hardware keyboard?
You can easily create a folder called "templates" yourself and put all your template files in there. If you want to create a new file from a template, just switch to the template folder and copy the file. Copying files is described in the manual at http://www.textasticapp.com/manual/lessons/How_can_I_move__copy_and_rename_files_and_folders.html
Thanks, I've just added them. Will be included in the next version.
Just go to Texatastic's settings screen and change the "Wrap Column" setting to a higher value (depending on the chosen font and font size).
Currently, the file is always saved before doing certain actions like switching to the remote connection screen or uploading the current file.

When a file is deleted it is closed and then deleted – doesn't make much sense to save it when it is deleted anyway :)

I plan to implement a close button in a popover that appears when tapping on the file name as suggested here: http://feedback.textasticapp.com/feedback/23302-tabs-for-open-files-show-list-of-recently-opened-files-when-tapping-on-the-file-name/
