Hello,
thanks for reporting this. I just added this snippet to TextExpander and it crashes for me, too.
I will try to find out what the problem is.
Actually, ActionScript files are supported. Files with the extension .as are automatically detected as ActionScript files. You can also manually choose the ActionScript syntax definition in the File Information popover.
Thanks, I'll consider adding this to Textastic.
Ah, ok, I see. I will update the manual entry.
1) I plan to support custom colors when the new syntax highlighter is finished for Textastic 3.0. You can also discuss and vote for this feature at http://feedback.textasticapp.com/feedback/7475-customizable-colors-for-syntax-highlighting/
2) Can you post a screenshot that shows the block cursor how you want to see it? Maybe with the syntax colouring scheme you prefer?
3) Version control support is discussed at http://feedback.textasticapp.com/feedback/7628-support-for-version-control-systems-svn-git-etc/
Thanks for your feedback,
Alexander
Good idea. I will add this information. Right now it is only mentioned in the update information on the App Store and here.
Well, yes, what you described is probably the way to go.
Actually, I'm not sure what you're asking for. Textastic allows you to edit files in those languages with support for syntax highlighting but you can't run the code on an iPad due to Apple's restrictions. You would have to upload them to a computer (for example using SFTP) and run it there.

This seems to be a problem in TextExpander. I tried your snippet in two other popular apps: PlainText and Nebulous Notes. Both apps also crashed.
