In the meantime, you can use an alternative web browser app. I believe iCab Mobile can show you the source code of a website and allows you to copy it it. There are probably other apps as well.

Textastic 3.0 doesn't include a syntax definition for R and it's also not in the manual anymore.

But, you can install your own syntax definitions. This is explained in the manual at http://www.textasticapp.com/v3/manual/lessons/How_can_I_add_my_own_syntax_definitions_and_themes.html

Why do you want to dismiss it? Just leave it open. It takes away some screen real estate but you can move it where you want it.
