For switching quickly between files, example, I read a plist I created representing a default value array and I wanted to write it into code. Since its a large plist I need to switch back and forth from the file to the plist

"don't open any file on startup" option

bgrvfecdwsxa 13 years ago updated by Alexander Blach (Developer) 13 years ago 1
yesterday, i opened a very big file (~2MB gzipped) and textastic crashed, maybe not enough ram. that's annoying because textastic opens the file again when you click on the app icon. dropbox has a tiny little, but pretty useful feature called "don't open any file on startup" preventing those crashes. you can turn this feature on and off in the settings app.

this would be very useful for textastic.

thanks and greets

The following table should correctly render with column spanning in multimarkdown mode. It does not.

| Column 1 | Column 2 | Column 3 | Column 4 |
| -------- | :------: | -------- | -------- |
| No span | Span across three columns |||

App crashing when adding a # as first character on a new line

Thomas Christensen 13 years ago in iPad updated by Alexander Blach (Developer) 13 years ago 1
Steps to reproduce error:
  • Create a new file
  • Edit the file as markdown.
  • Add a header 1 (put # in beginning of line)
  • Add some paragraph text
  • Add a header 2 (put ## in beginning of line)
  • Add an new paragraph
  • Add a header - when typing '#' the # key on screen keyboard freeze and app crashes.
Try to add some other characters on the same line instead and in between these add a '#' - no problem. When removing characters in front of the '#' until this character becomes the first on the line - freeze and crash again

Error: the file couldn't be opened

freeranger 9 years ago in General updated by Alexander Blach (Developer) 9 years ago 1

Using the latest version of Textastic for iPhone or iPad, the "recent files" list does not work for files from OneDrive.

Here is what I do:

- Open.. and find a file on onedrive - the file opens fine

- Go back to the menu and click on "Recent Files"

- select the file I just opened

- get an error "The file couldn't be opened".

If I go via the Open... link again and find the same file, I can open it again no problem.

I do find then that it now appears twice in the "Recent Files" menu - from the first attempt and now the second attempt, and neither of them work,

Navigation wheel

rishi sadhir 13 years ago in iPad updated by Alexander Blach (Developer) 13 years ago 5

Sometimes the navigation wheel will get stuck behind the keyboard. When you try to move it away from the keyboard the keyboard takes precedence. It becomes impossible to use the navigation will after this and you usually have to restart the program.

Database management like Coda or Navicat

Justin Soenke 12 years ago updated by Alexander Blach (Developer) 12 years ago 1
1. Ability to open mysql databases associated with a project
2. Ability to modify/create tables
3. Ability to modify/create content
4, Ability to duplicate or create new databases between two remote servers.

There are combinations of tools for the iPad that allow you to do 1-3, but I've yet to find anything that allows 4, I have to use ssh to access mysql and it'd be nice if I could do it entirely from the iPad without relying on a remote computer.

Can't delete local .zip file

Stuart Hertzog 13 years ago updated by Alexander Blach (Developer) 13 years ago 1
I downloaded a WordPress plugin Akismet .zip file to Goodreader on my iPad, then opened it in Texastic. Now, I cannot delete it in the local files list either by swiping or Edit->Delete. I can open it even though it is a binary file. It showis up as gibberish, naturally.
