Oh, and please also tell me what exactly I need to do to trigger the problem.

Ok, so it looks like it is a different problem you are seeing. Can you maybe send me a file in which you see these problems so I can try to reproduce it on my iPad? You can send it to support@textasticapp.com.

I'm sorry that you lost data due to this bug. I have found out that it happens after the "Find…" command is invoked and the find bar is closed. I'm going to try to fix this.

I have seen such problems with the clipboard on iOS 11. It seems to be related to the feature called Universal Clipboard that allows you to copy and paste across Mac and iOS devices. See https://support.apple.com/kb/PH25168?viewlocale=en_AP&locale=en_AP for details.

It seems to happen when iOS tries to determine if it should show the Paste command and a Mac is nearby.

By default, an app does not know anything about externally opened files except its URL. To fix that, Anders Borum and I have developed a way to share information about the source application. See https://github.com/palmin/x-document-source for details.

"External Storage Provider" is displayed as a generic term when Textastic cannot read this information and doesn't know that the source app was Working Copy.

So it seems that Textastic cannot access the external URL at all. I'll ask Anders Borum if he has an idea.

I have not seen such a problem on my devices. Can you please try if a reboot of your device fixes it?

If you use the "Open…" command in Textastic, the iOS document picker is invoked. The document picker only allows you to open text files recognized by the system - for this to work, the file needs to have a file extension known to the system. Otherwise it would be possible to open for example image files or Pages documents which Textastic cannot edit.

If the file is stored in "Local Files" or "iCloud" it is possible to open files with any extension - Textastic checks the file's contents and detects if it is a binary or text file. You can use the built-in clients for (S)FTP, Dropbox, Google Drive and WebDAV to download files into these locations.

Yes, we currently do not have a solution to open folders from Working Copy in Textastic on iPhone. In one of the betas it was possible to select a folder in the document picker, but they removed that feature. We hope that Apple adds it back in an iOS 11 point release.

Hello, yes, I had to remove it because of compatibility problems with the new Files app on iOS 11. It wasn't fully supported anyway since Textastic 5.3.1 because Textastic doesn't store its files in the default Documents folder anymore, but in a so-called app group container.

I've noticed the same problem. This seems to be a bug in Git2Go - please contact Git2Go support.
