Show a message when "Open In..." fails

Alexander Blach (Developer) 15 years ago updated 15 years ago 0
When there are no registered apps for a file, tapping on Open In ... simply does nothing.

It's not possible to check if a file type is registered before actually trying to show the list of registered applications, but it's possible to show an explanatory message when it fails.
Version 1.1

In the next version, Textastic registers all supported file extensions in the system.

This way, the open in menu should show up on all supported files.

Project bundles (.textastic)

Project bundles like something.textastic would allow us to upload projects with subfolders to iCloud with out any problems.

Love your App, thank you! I have one quibble, actually a bug with TextExpander/Textastic

dmahaffy 14 years ago updated by Alexander Blach (Developer) 14 years ago 4

I have a snippet that crashes Textastic 100% of the time when triggered. It is a simple time-stamp:

 %@-1h%1I:%M %p

That should render this: (a space) 1:45 PM

I normally use "t" and then hit "space" to trigger it. What happens is that I hit "space" and Textastic registers the space, the space on the keypad stays pressed, then the app quits.

In other TextExpander apps, this is no problem. In fact, I've got that same snippet embedded in another snippet and it works fine. But to enter a simple time stamp = crash.

Any thoughts? Thanks...

[EDIT: I should note that I've tried changing the trigger from "t" to "time", etc., all attempts still result in an app crash]

I love this , just got yesterday, but it keeps hanging when i open a perl file above 100kb, my os is 4.3.3. But it works fine when i open it in preview mode, when parsing is needed, it will just hang. Please take a look at it, Thanks

What's new in Textastic 2.1?

Alexander Blach (Developer) 14 years ago updated 14 years ago 5
Answer
Textastic 2.1 is currently in review at Apple.

New Features:
• SFTP (SSH connection) support with user/password and public key authentication
• FTPS (FTP over SSL) support
• New settings for FTP: connection mode (active or passive) and encoding
• More keys in the additional row above the standard keyboard (the row is now scrollable)

Fixed:
• Fixed some auto-correction bugs
• Fixed issues with international keyboards
• There was a crash when trying to open the WebDAV screen while not on a wifi network

Thanks to your feedback, this version also fixes some other minor issues.

Clojure is a lisp-like language.

I have a clojure.plist file for Fraise that I'd be happy to contribute.

crashes on large copy/cut paste operations

Bars Yazc 15 years ago updated by Alexander Blach (Developer) 15 years ago 8
Thx for the great app first of all.

Running 3.2.1 on ipad 3G
App crashed several times back to back while trying to select large amounts of text to be cut/copied to another location. I was able to replicate it a few times as well.
