I can reproduce the issue. When trying to enter "갈" using the keys "ㄱㅏㄹ", it becomes "가ㄹ" instead.
Does the app really crash for you or does it just not work correctly?
Apple changed something in iOS 16 that broke Korean input in Textastic. I haven't fixed this yet, but I'll try to fix it in the next update.

Try tapping/clicking on the name instead of on the check box.
I misinterpreted the first screenshot. It's great to hear that a reboot fixed the issue for you.
Alternatively, please try the following:
To prevent the app from opening previously open files at launch, do this:
- quit Textastic
- go to the Settings app
- scroll down to Textastic
- enable "Reset Recent Files"
- open Textastic

If you get a "login denied" error, that usually means that the connection to the server could be established, but the authentication failed for some reason. Most probably either the user name or password is wrong. Please double-check that you are using the correct password.
