I cannot reproduce this problem with Textastic 9.8.4 on iPadOS 15.4.
I tried showing the web preview by tapping on the "glasses" icon and by using the Cmd-Option-P shortcut. When I press the "Done" button or enter Cmd-Option-P again, the preview is dismissed and the editor has focus again.
Maybe a short screen recording video would help me see what's going on?

you posted this in "Textastic for Mac". Are you asking for this in the Mac or iOS version of Textastic?
On the Mac, you can use the Terminal app to run compilers and interpreters.
On iOS, Textastic has a SSH terminal that you can use to connect to a remote server and run the compiler there. You can use the SFTP client to transfer files between your device and the remote server.

I could now confirm that the "Next App Window" keyboard shortcut is Cmd-` (backtick) on a US keyboard.
Use "Globe-`" for "Split View" -> "Next Window".
If you hold the "globe" key on your external keyboard, iPadOS displays the available global shortcuts.
On my iPad it looks like this:
On my iPad, I can use the "Multitasking" -> "Next App Window" (Cmd-<) keyboard shortcut or the "Split View" -> "Next Window" (Globe-<) shortcut to switch the active split view app.
This is with a German keyboard. You probably have different keyboard shortcuts (probably Command-backtick) on a US keyboard.

So I guess the only button needed when using the Typefinity keyboard would be the button to dismiss the keyboard, right? Other features like undo/redo and tab seem to be supported by that third-party keyboard.
