copy/paste not working

Adam Acosta 12 years ago in iPad updated by Alexander Blach (Developer) 11 years ago 3

I've copied a bunch of javascipt (Backbone.js) in Safari (from raw view in Github) but when i press and hold in Textasic, paste is not an option.

Other than that, is there a better workflow for grabbing libraries and adding them into textastic? I can't seem to find a good clean way of just simply grabbing js files from anywhere and get them into textastic.

+1

Try to tap in the editor twice in the same location to bring up the paste menu.

There's an easier method if the file is accessible via HTTP: in the address bar in Safari, replace the http:// part of the url with textastic:// and tap return - this will launch Textastic which will download the requested url. Textastic can also unzip zip files.

I suspect this might be a backward compatibility issue. I'm using first gen ipad running ios 5.1.1 and I can copy and paste within textastic, but I can't bring in data from Safari. When I paste within textastic, it pastes whatever I have previously copied from within Textastic itself, apparently ignoring the clipboard from Safari. Pity.
Does this happen with all text you try to copy from Safari or is there content (maybe without formatting) that you can copy and paste into Textastic?
