App does not open

Matth 16 hours ago in iPad updated 13 hours ago 9

Hello, I've had the program for a few years now, and everything was working flawlessly. I was even working with it the day before yesterday, but now I can't open the app anymore. I've restarted, deleted the app, and reinstalled it, but nothing happens. I need help, please.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out, and I’m sorry to hear the app isn’t opening anymore.

Please try the following:

  • Open the Settings app.
  • Scroll down and tap "Apps".
  • Find "Textastic" in the list of apps and tap it.
  • Enable the "Reset Recent Files" option.
  • Launch Textastic.

If the issue persists, could you please let me know:

  • Your device model and iOS/iPadOS version
  • Whether the app crashes immediately after launching or shows a blank screen

This information will help me investigate further and find a solution quickly.

Also, do you have any TestFlight apps installed? I've seen problems launching the app when there are expired TestFlight builds.

Thanks for the quick reply. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but it opens and immediately crashes. Unfortunately, I have no way to open the settings. I was still using it two days ago. My iPad Pro is from 2020 and I have iOS 26. Everything was working fine until now. I hope you can help me. Thank you in advance.

I was talking about the Settings app, not the settings within Textastic. Can you please try that?

I understood it correctly, but the app crashes immediately when I try to open it.

So you did go to Settings (the system settings app) -> Apps -> Textastic, enable "Reset Recent Files" and Textastic still crashes on launch?

As soon as I try to open the app, it crashes immediately. I have no way to access the settings to make changes because the app shuts down right away. The app simply won’t load or open anymore.

This is the Settings app:

Open it and go to Apps > Textastic and enable “Reset Recent Files”.
