Cannot paste

I use Textastic primarily as a code repository. If I update code elsewhere and have a preexisting version in Texttastic, I cannot paste that update over the earlier version  All I see is the Copy option.Here’s a screen shot:

the screenshot is not from the code editor of Textastic. It looks like the preview of a PDF?

It’s code I copied and pasted from Gemini. However, I was able to save it to a file on my lPad and it saved as a PDF.

It looks like you might have used Select All. Try again selecting just your code, without the line numbers. I think the line numbers and vertical bar might be the problem.
