how to reference image in md and view it?

i’m trying to use the ![](file.png) image format in a markdown doc, and to preview it. the file is not hooking up, displays as a square. inthe file browser, the file shows but is greyed out. what am i missing?

Does it work if you insert a regular HTML image tag? Like <img src="file.png">?


Do you get a preview of the image file when you tap on the image file in the file listing?


Are you files stored in either "Local Files" or "iCloud"?
