I like this product a lot. I wish I could "download" files from an html server. In other words, I want to download an html file by http: same as downloading a file by FTP. Is that possible?

If you have a file open in Safari, you can tap on the address bar and replace http:// with textastic:// and hit return. Textastic will open and it will download the file over http.
