Petescorpio yesterday at 3:48 p.m. updated yesterday at 4:50 p.m. 6

Everywhere in the Textastic site it says look at the Mac manual, but the Mac manual link does not work, so where is it? Also do not purchase the Mac version believing it will synch with the iPad version, it doesn’t, A right fiddle

BAD, I'M UNSATISFIED

But you have to purchase the iPad app separately at £70

Hello,

The link to the Mac manual is:

https://www.textasticapp.com/mac/manual/

Granted, the Mac manual is outdated and hardly worth its name at the moment, but it is there. Where did you find a link that does not work?

The very detailed and up-to-date Textastic for iOS manual can be found at:

https://www.textasticapp.com/v10/manual/

And yes, Textastic for Mac does sync files with Textastic for iOS using iCloud Drive. Make sure to save your files in iCloud Drive > Textastic on the Mac and the files will sync to the "iCloud" location in the iOS app.

See: https://www.textasticapp.com/v10/manual/managing_files/local_files_icloud.html#icloud

I have managed to find the iOS manual and bookmarked it but the link II used on the site only had a link for syntax defining and to this forum

not sure my other reply went through but it was that I would have to purchase the iPad app for nigh on £70 to use it on there?

The macOS version and the iOS/iPadOS version of Textastic are two separate apps for two different platforms with different feature sets (the macOS version doesn't have remote connection support), so it would require two purchases if you want both.

The macOS version is available as a one-time purchase on the Mac App Store. A trial version is available on the website.

Textastic for iOS is a free download with in-app purchases. It offers a 7-day free trial when starting a monthly or yearly subscription, so you can explore all features before deciding to buy. If you prefer not to subscribe, a one-time purchase option is also available.

Offering a free download with in-app purchases is currently the most practical way to provide a trial through the iOS App Store.

In case you don't want the app, you can request a refund from Apple on the following website: https://reportaproblem.apple.com

The Mac version isn’t up to much, and I wanted it to run alongside VSCode to keep projects apart, but given trying to get anything done through Apple is a nightmare I will have to suck up and forget the £10 it cost. It’s my fault I suppose for not checking. But I do fancy the iPad version, so even though I am disappointed at the Mac version I will give the iPad version a go. If it is better than the free editors, e,g. WebForge I will try it for a year. It does look useful on the iPad. I have just started learning Python but have also got my teeth into website building with HTML, CSS and JavaScript. All as a hobby. Like learning a new language. At 71 it’s never too late to start eh :). I will stick with VSCode and Phoenix for my Mac. Thanks for your help
