Textastic on OSX 15.6.1 refuses to show sidebar and duplicates previous opened file tabs
I am trying to transfer myself from pulsar edit to textastic so I installed trial ver. but after a while, like 40mins of use it stopped to work with major problems.
it refuses to display files and find sidebar. if I click view -> show sidebar, nothing happens.
if I take quick note into iCloud just by command+N and write text, then close editor then reopen I can see 2 tabs opened with my unsaved file (like Untitled 1). if I try to close one tab it asks me for file save or delete. if I do delete (just to get rid of this second tab) it deletes unsaved file and closes both tabs. it works the same way for each on fly made file. Simply after editor close and open it is opened twice on 2 tabs but no more than 2x
this is very frustrating as I dont know whether is bug or just trial limits. Can U please help me ?

I'm using Textastic for Mac daily myself and haven't encountered the issues you are describing, so I'm not sure what's going on.
Does quitting the app (Textastic -> Quit Textastic) and restarting it change the behavior?
The trial version shouldn't show different behavior than the App Store version except for the trial window that appears when starting the app.
hello Alexander, thank you for fast response, here is video with my prob
Thanks for the video. I can now reproduce the problem.
When closing the window, the app should ask if you want to save untitled files, but for some reason it doesn't. This looks like a bug. It definitely used to work on earlier macOS versions.
To work around this issue, please close the tab instead of the window using the "X" button on the tab or by pressing Cmd-W, or using File > Close Tab. Then it should ask if you want to save or delete the untitled file.
Thanks for letting me know about this issue! I'll investigate.
When you press "Show Sidebar", it looks like there is a very thin (2 pixels wide?) sidebar appearing on the left. Can you please try to move your mouse to the left side of the window and drag the sidebar to make it wider? There should actually be a minimum width for the sidebar, but it looks like for some reason this isn't honored.
Alexander,
if U plan update app behavior for close, please allow "silent" close without annoying: Do U want to save file ?
it is UI killer. Best is not to ask, silent close and retain file for next open and let user decide what to do with unsaved files.
and
yes I noted the supertiny sidebar but I can't find a way to extend it now :(, it is jammed
Regarding the sidebar, please try this:
This should reset the sidebar width to the default.
cli command helped, thanx
