Gesture cursor movement

It would be very useful if we can move the cursor with gestures in the text area. Now the whole text area is scrolling, but it would be enough if only the right side trigger the scrolling and the remaining area can be used for moving the cursor in 4 directions.
Maybe a "to top", "to bottom" feature can be helpful too to work with long texts.

You can already go to the top by tapping on the status bar once. Tap twice to go to the bottom of the file.

The iPhone version does have gestures to move the cursor left and right: http://www.textasticapp.com/iphone/manual/lessons/How_can_I_move_the_cursor_using_swipe_gestures.html

The next update of will add this feature to the iPad version.

I see. But that is a bit slow, and there is no verical cursor movement.
I'm talking about a panning gesture in the text area in edit mode that is moving the cursor.
Or maybe a better one:
Use the right side of the edit area to move the cursor up/down and the bottom of the area to move left/right. And drag, not swipe.

Btw, I'm using the iphone version.

Any comment on my last post, Alexander?

Thanks.

I've read it, but I'm quite happy how it works at the moment.

The right side of the edit area would be too small to allow cursor movement to the right.

I did already fully implement a small cursor navigation control in the center of the screen above the keyboard that would recognize drag gestures, but I removed it after I found out that it didn't work well.
