Suggestions for next version

Steve McManus 12 years ago updated by Alexander Blach (Developer) 11 years ago 5
  1. List of open files, either as tabs, or a popover view
  2. Mark files that have been changed locally.  If this already happens, well, I'm missing it somewhere.  ;)
  3. Option to auto synchronize with Dropbox.  I actually dislike having to re-sync every time I make changes.
  4. Auto retry on failed upload to Dropbox.
  5. Allow for root syncing of Dropbox.  What I mean by that is say I pulled down a subfolder to edit locally.  I don't to have to have the same folder selected in the Dropbox area.  It would be nice to be able to just push changes back, without having to navigate through Dropbox to get to the folder you want to sync.
Thanks for the suggestions.

1. You can show a list of recently opened files by tapping on the file name. See http://www.textasticapp.com/v4/manual/lessons/How_can_I_show_a_list_of_recently_opened_files_How_can_I_close_the_current_file.html

2. You can vote for this feature at: http://feedback.textasticapp.com/topic/40570-show-which-files-have-been-changedmodified-since-download/

3. You can vote for this feature her: http://feedback.textasticapp.com/topic/34688-automatic-sync-with-dropbox/

4. In which cases does it fail to upload?

5. You can quickly upload and download changes for files that you have already downloaded: http://www.textasticapp.com/v4/manual/lessons/How_can_I_quickly_upload_downloaded_files.html

4. Unfortunately it's random.  Sometimes it looks like it uploaded, but I still get an error message.  next time it comes up, I'll write it down, and put it here.
Error downloading "[filename redacted]": The operation couldn’t be completed. (Cocoa error 4.)
Error downloading "[filename redacted]"

The operation couldn’t be completed. (Cocoa error 4.)

Finally got it to happen again.  Both files are .js files.  This happens when downloading files.
Thanks. Cocoa error 4 happens, when the app tries to create a file in a directory that doesn't yet exist. I had another user report a similar problem with a Dropbox connection just two days ago. I'll try to reproduce it.

This problem will be fixed in Textastic 4.3. It was a bug in the Dropbox SDK.
